She's Been Exactly
Where You Are.
Growing up in South Texas, nobody in Melinda's world talked about credit scores, debt strategy, or financial planning. Money was something you survived — not something you built. You paid what you could, stretched what you had, and hoped things worked out.
When Melinda became a single mom, that reality got real fast. Every denied application was a door slammed shut. Every high interest rate was money her family didn't have to spare. She applied for things she needed — a car, a better apartment, a fresh start — and her credit score kept saying no.
"I remember pulling my credit report for the first time and feeling completely overwhelmed. Collections I didn't recognize. Wrong balances. Accounts I had no idea I could dispute. I didn't know where to start — or that I even had rights."
So she started figuring it out herself. She studied the Fair Credit Reporting Act. She learned the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She dove into Metro-2 compliance, dispute strategy, and furnisher intervention. She sent her own letters — and watched her own negative items come off her report one by one.
And when her score moved, so did her life. Better rates. Better options. That quiet sense of breathing room she hadn't felt in years.
From Figuring It Out
to Building Something Real
That experience lit something in her. Melinda went back to school and earned her Master of Social Work degree — driven by the belief that financial wellbeing and mental health are more connected than most people realize. The stress of money problems doesn't stay in the bank account. It lives in your body, your relationships, your confidence.
She then pursued her Board Certified Credit Consultant credential and became a Certified Financial Social Worker — combining clinical expertise with real-world financial strategy in a way that's rare in this industry.
She founded She Rises Financial Solutions LLC in South Texas — registered, bonded, and built from the ground up — because she knew the kind of help she needed hadn't existed when she needed it. Not a company that sends template letters. Not a service that leaves you more confused than when you started. A real practice, run by someone who has lived it.
"Most people struggling financially aren't lazy or irresponsible. They were just never taught how the system works. Once you understand it — everything changes."
Today She Rises serves working parents, single moms and dads, families rebuilding after divorce or medical crises, and anyone who's been made to feel like their financial situation is hopeless. Bilingual services in English and Spanish ensure that language is never a barrier to moving forward.
Every client who rises, every score that climbs, every family that buys their first home — that's why she does this. Because you deserve more than survival mode.
